The Commodity Guide is an attempt at placing commodities in a system, providing an overview of commodities and material used in Sweden. It is an impossible task for an authority to compile the composition of each individual product on the market and to keep it fully updated. But it is possible to systematize the general knowledge available on the typical composition of commodities and materials.

Today’s product development means continuous marketing of new materials. The chemical compositions of the materials are changing, too. The idea is that those who possess knowledge about individual groups of commodities or materials should be able to contribute with data to develop the Commodity Guide.

In the Commodity Guide it is possible to search different types of commodities, the materials they usually consist of and substances that may be included in materials. Searches can also be made for single materials and substances to see in what commodities and groups of commodities they are used.

The menu to the left lists the tables and basic data on which the Commodity Guide was set up.
